2006 (5766) - Mark A. Messler & Randy H. Farb
Mazel Tov David Petersen! Miriam has a great imagination and likes to pretend (remember her as Mousie Brown?). She is pretending to be one of the characters in her favorite books, Mouse Guard. Too bad her mom needed to cook dinner before she was finished saving Lockhaven. Good thing she was able to quickly save the town and return the armaments to the Queen... I mean, return the pots and pans to her mom. David Petersen is an up an coming artist and writer that we met back in 2004 at the Motor City ComicCon. At that time I said "Watch this guy, he is really going to do some great work." Well, not long after that, David was picked up by Archaia Studios Press to do six Mouse Guard books. The books were a smash hit and he has now been picked up for an additional six books. You will be able to buy toys of the Mouse Guard characters this spring. Miriam is one of Mouse Guard's and David's biggest fans; in fact, David did a sketch of her at his book signing. Miriam is so excited that she hasn't put the picture down since. Check out Mouse Guard at http://www.mouseguard.net/ and you will see why Miriam is such a fan. NOTICE to Parents and Kids: Kids, since some of the pictures show fighting and mice being hurt, have your parents view the website to make sure they think it's okay for you to see.
